The rain didn’t dampen the spirits or the competitiveness of our members during the final 2 rounds of the Club Championships. Almost everyone who started on the 4 day journey completed their rounds in very challenging conditions. Well done to everyone who completed their 4 rounds. Thanks to all the volunteers for their efforts over the 4 days. Ground staff, greens mowers, club house helpers, match committee & the list goes on!!
A Grade
The A grade competition was down to the wire! Some great play, missed short putts had Trent Mann & Andrew Rose all square with 3 to play coming down the stretch! Hole 16 was the clencher!! Andrew sinks a monster from off the green & birdies 17 to go 2 up with 18 to play. Trent missed his hole out opportunity on 18 to tie & force a playoff. Congratulations Andrew Rose For Club Champion 2018!!!
B Grade
The last 2 days for B Grade were mesmerising! Ian Saunderson shoots a career best low round of 71 (1 over) & equal round of the tournament, to take a 5 shot lead into the final round over John Tissizis.
The final round saw Troy Kopp shoot up the leader board from mid pack with an impressive 72 (2 0ver) & round of the day, to tie the 72 hole score of Ian to force a playoff!!
The playoff consisted of holes 1, 7, 8 & 9 in sudden death. Holes 1 & 7 were tied & the winner was found on the 8th with a tap in par.

C Grade
The competition was fierce in C Grade. Stephen Todd had a 2 shot lead over Des Hensler after day 3’s play & was looking the person to beat.
The bamboo on 8 & 17 proved the difference between the 2 over the closing holes, with wayward balls costing precious shots.

Ladies
After a few years of not having Ladies participate in the Club Championships, it was great to see 2 of our ladies out competing! Deb Smith had a commanding lead over Cindy Cockle after Day 2 play finished.
Day 3 for the ladies was a bottler!! Deb’s 39 off the stick on the back 9 (beat alot of the men!!) set the pace for the final days play & the victory!!

Seniors & Best 72 hole Nett Champion
Congratulations to Ian Saunderson for taking out the Seniors division (Over 55) & 72 Hole Best Nett with an impressive 13 under his handicap!
